Bird Language Workshop
BIRD LANGUAGE WORKSHOP VWP will share ancient earth-based skills and practices to awaken and empower your connection with yourself, the Earth, and each other. earn to distinguish the five common voices of bird language learn to bird by ear hike through 3 different ecosystems (1.5-2 miles) to practice listening skills identify the shapes of alarm practice bird mapping techniques learn powerful sensory awareness practices to slow down practice activities to engage your whole body in a natural setting Your Guide: Joanne Jewell has been on staff at VWP since 2012. She is passionate about birding by ear, animal tracking, plants, and singing! She holds an MPA in Environmental Policy from the UW and certificates in Horticulture, Animal Tracking, and the Foundation Year in Waldorf Education. With her partner she feeds many happy Vashon families through their farm stand, and at the Vashon Farmer’s Market.
