Chamber Quarterly Member Educational Webinar
Washington Labor and Industries Wage Reimbursement Programs
Find out what you don’t know! Joyce Gorski from Labor and Industry hosts this webinar with Vashon employers to educate on L&I Incentive Programs, help them submit their first application and establish an ongoing Point of Contact relationship within the department.
Currently, they have three lucrative programs that she'll speak about:
- The Stay at Work Program: reimburses eligible State Fund employers for costs when they provide light-duty jobs for injured workers. Keeping the employee connected to work can result in a quicker and healthier recovery.
- Essentially, an eligible employer can bring an injured worker quickly and safely back to work in a light-duty or transitional job and be reimbursed 50% of the base wages paid to the injured worker (up to $10,000). The employer can also be reimbursed for some of the cost of training, tools or clothing the worker may need to do the light-duty or transitional work.
- The Preferred Worker Program : Labor and Industries may certify workers that have permanent restrictions through the Preferred Worker Program. This provides financial incentives and premium relief to eligible employers who create medically appropriate, long-term jobs for preferred workers.
- Job Modifications: Up to $5,000 (per claim) in equipment to modify a work station, purchase light duty equipment, etc. for claims that are eligible for time-loss.
