The DOVE Project Announces the Inaugural Rubber Chicken Relay: Fundraiser & Field Day

Event Aims to Raise Awareness and Funds to Support Survivor Services for those Impacted by Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, and Prevention Education Programs Designed to Reduce Occurrence of Interpersonal Harm

Vashon, Washington – The DOVE Project, a non-profit domestic violence and sexual assault agency, is hosting its Inaugural Rubber Chicken Relay: Fundraiser & Field Day on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the Vashon High School Field beginning at 9:30 a.m. PT. This family-friendly fundraiser will feature track-and field style events for individuals and teams. Additional games and concessions will be available. 

All proceeds raised will provide essential funds to support the survivor services offered to those impacted by domestic violence and support youth education programs.

“Over the past year, The DOVE Project provided survivor services to over 600 individuals and provided outreach and educational programming to youth of all ages,” shared Heidi Jackson, Executive Director of DOVE.

Donations through DOVE events are essential to keeping the program thriving in the community.

“Our goal is to expand community awareness about the support services The DOVE Project is providing,” said Bethany Stormer, Board Member of The DOVE Project.“Though often invisible, DOVE is positively affecting the health and safety of all of us, working with the school district, local businesses, the fire department, senior center, and King County first responders, to name a few.”

Schedule of Events:
9:30 am – Registration check-in and free T-shirt pick-up
10 am – Noon – All ages relays and field events – create a team, costumes are encouraged!
Noon – 5K walk/jog/run
